PAPILLON AFIS/APIS Mission

The PAPILLON AFIS/APIS system enables creating, storing and functioning of electronic databases of tenprint and latent records, and automates the process of fingerprint and palmprint identification helping to solve a wide range of vital tasks

The PAPILLON AFIS/APIS is being widely deployed throughout the Russian Federation ensuring automation of fingerprint and palmprint files, including criminal, under the Law "Of National Fingerprint Enrollment". At the heart of every of the biggest in Russia automated fingerprint data banks of federal, interregional or regional levels is the PAPILLON AFIS/APIS. To date, all of the fingerprint and palmprint paper files amassed in our country have been converted to electronic format of PAPILLON.


PAPILLON AFIS/APIS Capabilities

System Architecture

Fundamentally, our system is based on the client-server architecture model enabling the AFIS workstations independently make service requests to the server that accepts and replies to these requests.

Data entry, image processing and bringing objects to standard form for storage are carried out at the workstation, while the automatic process of database insertion is initiated on the server.

A search is conducted for every newly entered object that is compared to those in the database. The object is considered filed and based only after the search is completed.
